Water level

MADURAI: The level in the Periyar dam on Friday stood at 131.8 feet with an inflow of 1,735 cusecs and a discharge of 1,749 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 54.10 feet with an inflow of 1,448 cusecs and a discharge of 2,030 cusecs.

The combined Periyar credit stood at 7,146 mcft. Periyar dam recorded 3 mm of rainfall.

Temple fiat to unauthorised guides

The Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple administration has warned of criminal action against unauthorised guides who were found loitering in the temple premises after September 30.

According to a release from the temple administration, unauthorised guides were asked to obtain licence before September 30 from the temple administration.
