Man hacked to death by rivals

BANGALORE: A man with criminal record, who was released from jail a week ago, was hacked to death by his rivals in Adugodi police station limits on Thursday night.

The police gave the name of the victim as Thomas (30), a resident of Rajendranagar. The police said Thomas was an accused in several criminal cases.

Around 9.30 p.m., Thomas was standing in front of his house at Rajendranagar and was talking to his mother Narasamma when a few youths, who came there, attacked him with swords.

Narsamma rushed Thomas to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead, the police said. The police said Thomas' rivals, Palani, Anthony, Ranjan and others had murdered him.
