Pleasant surprise for Narendra Modi

CHENNAI: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had a pleasant surprise when a group of Muslims belonging to the Bohra community met him on the sidelines of the Bharatiya Janata Party national executive here and greeted him on his birthday on Saturday.

Over 30 members of the community from northern part of the city also cut a cake on the occasion.

Later, they handed over about Rs 1 lakh as contribution for social welfare activities in Gujarat, BJP sources said.

Members of the BJP national executive also greeted Mr. Modi on his birthday and on his completing 1,000 days in office.
