Breach in Tungabhadra canal

BELLARY: The high-level canal on the right bank of the Tungabhadra reservoir was breached near Kurkoppa village in Sandur taluk of Bellary district on Sunday.

According to preliminary information reaching the district headquarters, a piping on the left bund of the canal caused the breach.

Around 2,700 cusecs of water was flowing in the canal. No loss of crops or property has been reported following the breach as the water from the canal entered the Daroji tank.
