INSPIRING PARTY WORKERS: DIC(K) leader K. Karunakaran speaking at an election meeting at Koyilandy on Monday.
KOZHIKODE: Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) leader K. Karunakaran has alleged that those who did not know the traditions of the Congress were now posing as Congressmen. The situation was such that senior Congress leaders like him could not even meet the Congress President. Mr. Karunakaran was speaking at a public meeting held in connection with the DIC(K) election campaign at Koyilandy, near here, on Monday. He said it was the attitude of the leadership which forced him to quit the party and form a new one. He alleged that the Oommen Chandy Government was adopting an anti-people policy instead of fulfilling the promises made to the public. The people of the State would give a fitting reply to the Government's unresponsive behaviour in the forthcoming panchayat elections, he added. Koyilandy Assembly Constituency president E.T. Pappan, DIC(K) leaders K. Sadiri Koya, P. Sankaran, MLA, former minister M.T. Padma, among others, spoke on the occasion.
