Protest against fuel price hike

CHENNAI: Members from the Construction Workers Association, Farmers Association and members of the unorganised sector associations staged a protest against the recent hike in the fuel price in front of Egmore railway station on Tuesday.

The members, led by Pon Kumar, president of Construction Labours Association, raised slogans against the petrol and diesel price hike and attempted to enter the station premises.

They were stopped by the police and were arrested. Later in the evening they were released.
