BANGALORE: Classes were suspended for nearly two hours on Tuesday at Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya College near Anand Rao Circle following an anonymous call that a bomb has been planted in the college. Police said that around 11 a.m. a call was made to Police Control Room that a bomb has been placed in the college. Personnel of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, along with tracker dogs, conducted searches at the college and did not find any bomb. The call turned out to be a hoax, the police said. The High Grounds police have registered a case. This is the third time that calls have come about placing of bombs in the college. On August 12, the principal of the college got a call, which turned out be hoax. The police received similar call on the next day. This apart, there has also been increase in the number of such hoax calls. The police say that they cannot ignore such calls and take chances as, if something untoward happens, there will be loss of life and property. While mischief mongers are taking the police for a ride by making hoax calls, the police have not been able to identify most of the callers who normally make calls from public call offices.
