TNEB squeaks past DDFA

DINDIGUL: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), Chennai, prevailed over Dindigul District Football Association 7-6 via sudden death in the inaugural match of the third annual TNEB trophy State-level invitation football tournament at the District Stadium here on Wednesday.

At the regulation time, the teams were level 2-2.

In the tie-breaker, the teams scored three goals each.

The Dindigul team took the lead with a ninth minute goal by Hark. Parthiban found the equaliser for EB in the 32nd minute. Dindigul again went into the lead in the 58th minute through Rajesh Raja. But Vijayakumar restored parity within two minutes.

In the tie-breaker, Jerome, Thiagarajan and Manilan scored for TNEB. Emmanuel, Paramasivam and Manikandan scored for Dindigul.

In the sudden death Kalidasan scored for TNEB. Rajesh Raja scored but Hark missed for Dindigul.
