Development is the buzzword

: Development seems to be the buzzword of politicians during this local bodies election time.

They are talking about development issues, reeling out statistics, quoting studies of experts . The LDF goes hi-tech as it promises development of a satellite town as solution for the lack of space for expansion of Kozhikode city.

The UDF projected itself as `pro-poor first, pro-reform later,' by promising to foot the bill of waste disposal on behalf of the poor. A BJP representative rues that the district has not yet started a food processing industry .

An IUML worker accuses the ruling LDF of not having started an IT project like Akshaya of Malappuram district panchayat.

Akshaya project is a Centrally-sponsored scheme, not Malappuram panchayat's pet project, a Janata Dal candidate corrects. What is in the mind of voters? A sense of deja vu?
