TIRUCHI: : After months of uncertainty, the Department of Elementary Education has finally steered clear of ambivalence by issuing a fiat to erring nursery schools in Tiruchi district to comply with specified norms by September 30 or face closure. In the event of non-compliance, students from such schools will be shifted to the nearest recognised nursery schools, the District Elementary Educational Officer (DEEO), V. Sathiamoorthy, said on Tuesday. In a statement, he advised managements of schools, which have applied for recognition anew, and those seeking renewal of recognition to promptly forward their applications along with a Building Stability Certificate obtained from a Chartered Engineer to the District Elementary Educational Office before the aforesaid date, for obtaining three other certificates. The applications, the DEEO assured, would be scrutinised with immediacy by Single Window Clearance Committees.
