SHIMOGA: Stage actor and director Yashwant Sardeshpande said here on Thursday that cultural programmes are of immense importance in developing the personality of students. Inaugurating the activities of the Vigyan Parishat at the Sahyadri Science College, he said the days in college are an important phase in everyone's life and that one can make his or her life meaningful only if they made use of the opportunities that come their way. Mr. Sardeshpande said extra curricular activities are important in shaping the personality of students. Principal of the College T.S. Hoovaiah Gowda presided over the function. Principal of Sahyadri Arts and Commerce College N.S. Thimme Gowda, Students' Welfare Officer K.H. Pandurangan and Secretary of the Vigyan Parishat C. Subramanyam were present. Avinash welcomed the gathering. Shivakumar proposed a vote of thanks. Mr. Sardeshpande staged his humorous play "All the Best".
