Baragur Ramachandrappa to inaugurate Dasara festivities on October 4

BANGALORE: The former Kannada Development Authority chairman and writer Baragur Ramachandarappa will inaugurate the Dasara celebrations in Mysore on October 4 atop the Chamundi Hills.

Deputy Chief Minister M.P. Prakash will be the chief guest at the inaugural function.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Minister of State for Labour and Mysore district in-charge Tanvir Sait said the 200th Dasara will be celebrated in a grand manner from October 4 to 13.

For the convenience of visitors, the Government will release 1,000 gold cards, each priced at Rs. 5,000.The holders of gold cards will be allowed to attend all programmes, he said.

Cricketer Rahul Dravid has been invited to inaugurate the Dasara sports events, while the winner of the national best actress award, Tara, will inaugurate the cultural programmes. Adventure sports and aerobatics have also been organised.
