Swamy seeks probe into KGB links
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Thursday demanded a probe by a commission into allegations of KGB's links with the Congress.
At a press conference here, Dr. Swamy said the Mitrokhin Archives Volume II vindicated his demand for an investigation into KGB's links and nexus with the Congress in general and its president Sonia Gandhi in particular.
Dr. Swamy wanted the commission headed by a sitting Supreme Court Judge, who has three years left for retirement. He said he had met Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and BJP president L.K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh and Janata Dal (United) leader George Fernandes and urged them to write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, demanding an inquiry.
Dr. Swamy said he had raised the charge of the Communist Party of India being on KGB's payroll in Parliament.
