HYDERABAD: The fourth leg of the Gulf dirt track National championships will be held at the NTR Stadium, opposite Indira Park, Hyderabad on October 1 and 2. At a press conference here, the organisers said the Hyderabad leg would be a keenly fought one, what with Team TVS riders narrowly ahead of their counterparts from Yamaha after the third leg at Jodhpur. Over 100 entries were expected for the Twin Cities event that carries Rs. 75,000 in cash and trophies. The practice and qualifying rounds would be on Saturday and the main competition would be flagged off on Sunday morning. Competitions will be held in the following categories: Indian expert class comprising bikes above 80 cc upto 250 in group B, foreign bikes up to 250 CC, two and four stroke in Group A; private expert class of two-stroke bikes above 80 up to 150 cc in group B; novice championships for two-stroke bikes above 80 cc up to 150 in group D, four-stroke bikes upto 160 cc in group D. There's a special category for ladies on scooters upto 110 cc and another for riders from Andhra Pradesh alone. The press conference was addressed by Bijoy Paul, N.C. Sekaran, S. Das of Gulf Oil Corporation and Srikant Karani of Sportscraft, organisers of the event. Entry forms are available at Andhra Pradesh Motor Sports Club (APMSC), 13/1 Union Ind.
