Congress conclave to be held in Chandigarh
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
The Congress on Thursday said it would hold the Chief Ministers' conclave on October 7 and 8 at Chandigarh, the first such exercise after the United Progressive Alliance came into power last year.
The conclave, once a regular feature when the Congress was in the Opposition, was last held in 2003 at Srinagar. The party had earlier announced the conclave would be held during the third week of September but had not declared the venue. AICC general secretary Ambika Soni told reporters here that besides the Congress president, the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers where the Congress was in power, and AICC general secretaries would be attending the conclave.
