South Western keeps title

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: South Western Air Command (Gandhi Nagar), with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-12 win over host Southern Air Command, retained the Air Force volleyball title here on Friday. Leading Aircraftsman, Arun Kumar, of the champion side was declared the `Player of the tournament'. Air Vice Marshal, A.S. Karnik, who was the chief guest, gave away the prizes.

Ernakulam District TT

The Ernakulam District table tennis championship will be held at the YMCA-South Area Branch, Indira Nagar, Kadavanthra, on October 1 and 2. Competition for seniors, juniors, sub-juniors, cadets and mini cadets will be conducted. Team championships, for schools in the boys and girls sections and for clubs in the men's division, will also be held.

Interested players, schools, teams and clubs may send their entries to the secretary, YMCA South Area Branch, Indira Nagar, Kadavanthra, Kochi 682 020 (Ph: 0484-2322446, 2314307) on or before September 27.
