SPASTN seeks funds for projects

CHENNAI: : Spastics Society of Tamil Nadu (SPASTN) is organising a fund raising dinner as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations. Paintings of A.V.Ilango and Thotta Tharani will be sold to fund a special project of procuring and selling educational wooden toys and ceramic products.

SPASTN is a non-profit organisation that works for the rights of the physically and mentally challenged. It operates newborn screening clinics, runs inclusive education programmes, imparts vocational training and undertakes rehabilitation programmes. His honours include the International Gold Medal from the European Academy of Arts, Paris. Mr. Tharani has won acclaim, both as an artist and as a set designer for cinema.
