Bihar police to resume agitation

PATNA: Bihar police is launching its third phase of agitation from September 30 and will go on mass leave from October 18, when voting for the first phase of election is scheduled, following failure of talks with the Government.

The long-stretched negotiations between the government and representatives of the Bihar Policemen's Association failed here on Friday as both the parties could not reach an agreement on its 12-point demand.

The negotiations were carried out by State Chief Secretary G S Kang, Home Secretary H C Sirohi and DGP Ashish Ranjan Sinha.

The association has already completed two phases of agitation.

During the third phase, around 65,000 police personnel would stage dharnas in the district headquarters. — UNI
