BELLARY: Many people were allegedly duped by a company at Hagari Bommanahalli in Bellary district. People, especially women, deposited their savings and hard earned money, lured by the offer of getting household articles and other electronic goods at low prices. The only thing they had to do was to wait for about 15 days to get the goods promised by the owner of the company.
Look out
Police are now on the look out for Swaminathan from Chennai, who started S.S. Traders at Ramnagar. Swaminathan reportedly fled from the town in the early hours on Saturday, police said. According to police, Swaminathan had obtained all types of licences to run the shop from the local self-government. He started the business on September 8 and had given some of the articles to his customers to gain the confidence of others, police said. Meanwhile, the police, based on apprehensions expressed by a few, summoned him and warned him of stern action and ensured that he repaid the cash or gave the goods besides directing him not to collect the amount. A case has been registered in Hagari Bommanahalli police station.
