Extra coaches for festival season

NEW DELHI: To clear the expected rush of passengers during the Durga Puja and Diwali festival season, the Northern Railways will augment the capacity of 15 trains, mostly east-bound.

The trains in which extra coaches will be added include the Delhi-Hatia Jharkhand Express, Delhi-Puri Express, the Purushottam Express to Puri, Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express and Delhi-Jammu Tawi Shalimar Express.

The new arrangements will come into effect after October one and continue for the next two months, a Northern Railway statement said here.

Free heart

check-up camp

NEW DELHI: On the eve of World Heart Day, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here organised a free heart check-up camp on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, hospital vice-chairman P. K. Khanna observed: "Heart disease is in epidemic proportions in the country. To a large extent, the heart disease is caused due to unhealthy lifestyle, wrong eating habits, lack of exercise. All these factors also lead to obesity. Therefore the theme this year is `Healthy Weight and Healthy Shape'. People must maintain a healthy lifestyle."

On Sunday, the hospital along with Mahila Morcha will hold a free health check-up camp at 11 A Block, Tikona Park, Rajinder Nagar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Divine discourse

NEW DELHI: The global chief of Brahma Kumaris, Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani, will deliver a divine discourse in a programme, "An Evening to Experience God's Love and Blessings", at Siri Fort Auditorium here on Tuesday.

Organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, the programme will also include a brief session on Rajyoga mass meditation.

Sports complex

NEW DELHI: Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, has come up with an impressive sports complex comprising two squash courts, skating ring, table tennis hall, aerobic centre and indoor sports facilities at its premises in East Delhi.

The sports complex was inaugurated by former Olympian Ashok Dhyan Chand on Thursday.

Tourism package

NEW DELHI: A sightseeing package for underprivileged children from orphanages, exclusive website for rural destinations and co-branding of `Incredible India' with Air India and Microsoft and tourist taxis with `Incredible India' graffiti will be some of the initiatives launched here on September 27 to coincide with the World Tourism celebrations.
