PONDICHERRY: The Unions of Farmers and Farm Labourers in Pondicherry (affiliated to the all India Farmers Union and also Bharathketh Mazdoor Union) have called upon the Central and State Governments to ensure that allocation and investment in farm sector was raised considerably. A resolution adopted at a joint meeting of the cadres and leaders of the two unions here on Friday said that the farmers and workers would participate in the September 29 strike called by trade unions all over the country in support of their charter of demands to ameliorate the lot of workers and agriculturists and farm labourers.
