PONDICHERRY: The Pondicherry Livestock Owners and Private Milk Vendors Welfare Association has called upon the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare to open a dispensary in Thavalakuppam to enable the livestock owners to get veterinary facilities locally instead of taking the cattle to the centre 7 km away at Kakkayanthope. The president of the association, N. Elumalai, said the number of owners of milch animals had particularly increased nd there was necessity to render timely healthcare to the animals.
