Goods destroyed in fire at tribunal office

BANGALORE: Computers, uninterrupted power supply systems (UPS) and furniture were destroyed in a fire that broke out at the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal office on Kempe Gowda Road on Saturday.

The police said that around 11 a.m. an electric short circuit caused the fire at the tribunal's office situated on the first floor of WTC building in the FKCCI complex.

Two fire tenders put out the blaze.

The Upparpet police have registered a case.

Another accident

In another fire accident, goods worth Rs. 70,000 were lost at a puffed rice godown at Kalyana Nagar, off Hennur bande, on Friday night.

The Hennur police have registered a case.

Household articles lost

In yet another incident, household articles worth Rs. 1 lakh were destroyed in a fire that broke out at a house in 2nd Phase, J.P. Nagar, around 5 a.m. on Saturday.

An electric short circuit caused the fire, the police said. A case has been registered.
