HYDERABAD: The 10-day procession took place successfully only because the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee and the Police Department wholeheartedly worked towards a single aim, said Additional Commissioner of Traffic, A.K. Khan. Representatives of the Samithi voiced appreciation of the Police Department in conducting the procession at the thanksgiving programme held by the Samithi. Additional Commissioner, Co-ordination, Tejdeep Kaur, pointed out the possible ways in which the 10-day programme could be managed better the next year. The Samithi should arrange for good meals for the police constables who come from different districts. She said the Samithi should have women representatives in the future. It was also necessary to estimate the exact size of the Ganesh idol, chains necessary to lift it and proportionate cranes to lift it. Police Commissioner Dinesh Reddy commended the Utsav committee and the Police Department for the big scale on which the procession was conducted. Bigger idols were carried this year and at least 10 lakh people participated in the procession, he said. Central Minister, Narendra, Joint Commisioners, Ravi Gupta, Punna Rao and Mohan Rao, former Minister, Bandaru Dattatreya, president of the Utsav Samithi, G.Pulla Reddy and vice-president, Karodi Mal Narsingapuriya, attended the function.
