Power shutdown

BESCOM has said that there will be no power supply on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the following areas: Leela Palace, Golden Enclave, Kodihalli, Manipal Hospital, Britannia, RMZ, Intel, KGA, Roya, Arcade, Domlur Layout, Rustom Bagh, Divyashree Greens, J.B. Nagar, Indiranagar, Ulsoor, Murugeshpalya, Airport Road, HAL 2nd and 3rd Stage and surrounding areas. The power cut will also affect Amarjyothi Layout, Diamond District and Srinivagilu.

Takes over as UPASI

Vice-President

J.K. Thomas has taken over as Vice-President of the United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI). He is the Managing Director of Malankara Plantations Ltd. and has been a member of UPASI Executive Committee since 1994.

Health check-up

Floral art classes

The Mysore Horticultural Society is conducting a one-month vegetable carving and Indian floral art classes from September 29 at the Dr M.H. Mari Gowda Memorial Hall at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. More details can be had from the Secretary of the society on 26576781.

Management fest

The Centre for Management Studies of Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College will organise an international management festival here on October 1 with participation of institutions

from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, West Asia and the United Kingdom. The theme will be `Indian heritage: modern concepts evolved from ancient principles.'

World Heart Day

Apollo Clinic, Malleswaram, will observe a World Heart Day on Sunday with a heart check-up camp.

The clinic is also offering a special package for complete cardiac fitness examinations. The offer will be till September 30.
