NLFT militants kill 8 in Tripura

AGARTALA: Suspected National Liberation Front of Tripura militants attacked Brindabanghat village in West Tripura district and killed eight persons, including four women and two children, and simultaneously assaulted a Special Police Officer's camp in a planned assault.

The insurgents first attacked a SPO camp in the area and exchanged fire with the personnel, the police said.

Another group encircled three houses isolated from the rest of the village and killed seven residents and injuring three others.

One of the injured died at the Agartala Medical College and Hospital, the police said.

There was no casualty among the police personnel. — PTI
