Kotturpuram residents list their grievances

Want vacant plot made a park or playground

CHENNAI: : Kotturpuram residents complain that the several bus services to their area had been withdrawn and the present service was limited.

They aired their grievances at a meeting of Exnora International here on Sunday. The occasion was the inaugural of Naidu Street Civic Exnora.

T.V.Gomathinayagam, a resident of Ponniamman Koil Street, said that 4E and 23B services connecting Kotturpuram and Mint were withdrawn. The number of buses on 23G and 18B routes were limited.

Residents wanted the services on old routes to be restored and increased frequency. Train services between Tiruvanmiyur and Beach station also needs to be increased, they said. Mr. Gomathinayagam said that a marriage hall at the Peeliamman Koil Street remained closed for almost six years. N.V.Ranganayakulu, president of the Naidu Street Civic Exnora, said that the area experienced frequent voltage fluctuations and wanted the work of changing overhead cables to underground cables to be completed soon.
