Paswan to make announcement on seats soon
Special Correspondent
PATNA:
Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP) chief and Union Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan is expected to announce his seat-sharing arrangement with the Communist Party of India (CPI), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Forward Bloc (FB) in a day or two.
Forty seats for CPI
While he intends to contest about 190 to 195 seats himself, Mr. Paswan, according to LJP spokesman Sanjay Singh, has set aside about 40 seats for the CPI and a few for the RSP and FB.
Mr. Singh denied any possibility of the LJP supporting the Rashtrita Janata Dal (RJD) in case of a hung assembly as suggested by the Congress general secretary, Digvijay Singh.
The party was committed to seeing a Muslim become the Chief Minister and was opposed to the RJD and BJP, he said.
