CHANDIGARH: Girls have outshined boys in the Senior Secondary Supplementary Examination, 2005 conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education, according to an official spokesman. As compared to boys' pass percentage of 49.35, girls' pass percentage was 55.34. The overall pass percentage was pegged at 51.38, which was five per cent higher than that of last year. He said that out of 44,502 candidates who appeared in the examination, 22,867 passed while 16,369 were placed under compartment. The pass percentage of the candidates belonging to the rural areas was 49.66 and that of urban areas 57.19. As many as 4,743 candidates appeared in the Senior Secondary Vocational Examination and 1,527 candidates were declared successful. The girls secured a pass percentage of 45.72 while the boys got only 37.74. He said that the gazettes of the result would be made available at the offices of all the District Education Officers on Tuesday from 11 a.m. onwards. Besides, the results could also be seen on the website http://results.nic.in and the Board's website http://hbse.nic.in from 9 a.m. onwards. The candidates could also enquire their results on phone No. 01664 254000 and 951241250112.
