HYDERABAD: Telugu and English dailies in Andhra Pradesh could now access online the press notes and features issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, with the launch of its website (http://pibhyd.ap.nic.in) here on Monday. Launching the website, the Principal Information Officer, Deepak Sandhu, said the Hyderabad PIB was the fifth regional office to have launched on-line services after Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata and Aizawl to cater to the needs of media organisations.
Urdu website shortly
With the services now available in Telugu and English the Launching the website, the Principal Information Officer, Deepak Sandhu, said the Urdu website would be launched in two months. The PIB Delhi website was getting 1.5 lakh to two lakh hits daily and up to five lakh hits on important occasions. The PIB proposed to have an archive containing important speeches of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Deputy Principal Information Officer CGK Murthy said the website would be initially updated thrice daily and the frequency would be increased in future.
