Man charged with killing wife
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A jobless man allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat with a knife in R.N. Colony of Santohsnagar on Monday. Their six-year-old son Abrar was witness to the gruesome act.
Syed Yousuf reportedly picked an argument with wife Asma Mohsin over a domestic issue in the morning. In a fit of rage, he attacked her with knife, the Santoshnagar Inspector in-charge, Riyasath Ali Khan, said.
Yousuf tried to flee the place along with Abrar on his vehicle. However, he abandoned the child and sped away as the latter raised alarm. Later, he drove to the Santohsnagar police station and surrendered himself. Motive behind the murder is not yet known, but the victim's sister Reshma alleged that Yousuf had been suspecting Mohsin's fidelity for the past few years and harassing her on flimsy grounds.
Mohsin was working as a teacher.
