Stamp paper racket case adjourned
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The special court trying the multi-crore stamp paper racket cases on Monday adjourned the hearing on the final report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in a stamp paper racket case to October 6.
The CBI on September 13 filed the final report in the case related to seizure of fake stamp papers by Upparpet police five years ago. The CBI had charged 24 persons including Abdul Karim Telgi and Rehan Baig, brother of the former Minister Roshan Baig, with offences under Indian Penal Code, Karnataka Stamp Act and provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. Nine of accused were not charged.
The Judge, A.T. Munnoli, reserved orders on the bail application of Mohammed Ayub Bavoji, an accused. Bavoji filed a fresh bail application after the earlier order of releasing him on bail got cancelled following non-appearance before the Special Court.
