BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has shifted its offices housed in the BMP market building in Gandhi Bazar in view of the plan to demolish the building and construct a commercial complex. The BMP has shifted the office of the Revenue Officer, Basavanagudi, the offices of the Assistant Revenue Officer, Basavanagudi and Hanumanthanagar, to BMP's Community Hall in 54th ward. The offices of the Assistant Executive Engineer and the Health Inspector of Basavanagudi and Hanumanthanagar will be housed in BMP stadium building on Bull Temple Road. The BMP's demolition squad on Sunday brought down a building being constructed without an approved plan in Someshwara Nagar. This action was taken as per the order of the High Court, said an official press release.

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) collected Rs. 1.72 lakh on Monday, the second day of the drive to collect lease amount arrears from shopkeepers in Jayanagar Shopping Complex and Krishnarajendra Market complex. The BMP authorities took action for recovery of Rs. 32 lakhs from Special Minor Irrigation Department, Rs. 3.7 lakhs from Leather Industries, and Rs. 58,352 from Fisheries departments, who have their offices in the two complexes
