Three killed in road accidents

BANGALORE: Three persons, including two engineers, were killed in separate road accidents reported in the city since Sunday afternoon.

Police said Srikanth (30), an engineer and a resident of Sahakaranagar, was killed when a multi-utility vehicle knocked his motorcycle down at the Horamavu traffic signal on Monday.

Srikanth was caught between a lorry that was ahead of him and the multi-utility vehicle. The driver and some occupants of the multi-utility vehicle were injured and have been hospitalised, the police said. The Fraser Town traffic police have registered a case.

Roselyn (32) of Kadugondanahalli was killed when a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus rammed the motorcycle on which she was riding pillion with her husband, Rajkumar.

The accident occurred on Tank Bund Road, off Old Upparpet station on Sunday. Rajkumar (38), an engineer, suffered injuries. The couple's three-year-old daughter escaped unhurt, the police said. The Upparpet traffic police have seized the bus and are on the lookout for the driver.

In the third incident, Venugopala Sharma (57) suffered serious injuries when he fell off his scooter on the M.S. building compound around on Sunday.

Sharma, a civil engineer and a resident of Rajajinagar, died at NIMHANS. The Cubbon Park traffic police have registered a case.
