MHC inmate found hanging

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lukose, 39, inmate of Mental Health Centre at Peroorkada, was found hanging inside his cell on Sunday night. According to the police, the inquest was prepared in the presence of the Revenue Divisional Officer on Monday morning and the post-mortem was done in the afternoon. The body has since been handed over to relatives.

Schoolgirl brought dead

A girl studying in Class 12 of a city school was brought dead to Medical College Hospital on Monday night. The girl reportedly committed suicide in her house. The body has been shifted to the mortuary.

Fishermen injured

Two persons were admitted to Medical College Hospital on Monday with injuries sustained at sea when crude explosives used for fishing exploded. They have been identified as Kabeer, 35, and Mohammed Rafi, 30, both from Vizhinjam. The right palm of Mr. Rafi was severed in the incident.

Liquor seized

Twenty-seven bottles of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor were seized from a house at Jagathy on Monday evening. According to the police, Ratheesh, 31, has been arrested in connection with the seizure. Two others, Ramesan and Rajesh, who were present in the house during the police raid, managed to escape. A case has been registered, the police added.
