Paediatric meet

Thiruvananthapuram: The 19th South Zone Conference of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, being organised by the Department of Paediatrics, Medical College, will be held in the city from Friday to Sunday. Union Minister for Health Anbumani Ramadoss will inaugurate the conference on Friday. Health Minister K.K. Ramachandran will be the chief guest. The theme for this year's conference is `Healthy child: a national treasure.' — Staff Reporter

Packaged milk

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The public should take care to buy only those brands of packaged milk that have the registration number as per the Milk and Milk Product Order (1992) on the milk packet. According to a press note issued here on Monday, the fact that milk is available in a packet does not guarantee its quality. The quality of milk can be tested at the district-level quality control laboratories of the Dairy Development Department, the press note added. — Staff Reporter

National strike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National School Teachers' Union (NSTU) has decided to participate in the national strike called on Thursday against the policies of the Central Government. This was decided at a meeting of the State secretariat held here on Monday. NSTU president Muneer Eravath presided over, a press note issued here on Monday said. — Staff Reporter
