KADAPA: Tourism will be given a fillip in Kadapa district by promoting places of historical and tourist interest, Collector G. Asok Kumar said on Tuesday. Devunikadapa, Tallapaka and Brahmamgari Matham were being developed into tourist centres and the district had places with scenic splendour that would enthral tourists, he said after flagging off a bicycle rally at Kalakshetram. Tourism development would provide livelihood to poorer sections, he said. Rajiv and Nehru parks developed in Kadapa town are generating an income of about Rs. 20,000 every Sunday. District Tourism Nodal Officer R. Venugopala Rao, District Youth Welfare Officer B. Maheswara Reddy and Municipal Commissioner S. Aleem Basha, took part. The Collector later flagged off a mountaineering camp for Rajiv Yuva Shakti beneficiaries at Syndicate Institute of Rural Development and inaugurated a kitchen and dining hall at Ambedkar Bhavan. He inaugurated a rest house built at a cost of Rs. 6.90 lakhs at Devunikadapa. Devunikadapa temple committee chairman G. Krishna Reddy, former chairman A. Krishna Kumar, Tourism Board members, S.
