D.M. Nanjundappa laid to rest at Dogganal with State honours

CHITRADURGA: D.M. Nanjundappa, former Chairman of the High-power Committee for Redressal of Regional Imbalances, who died in Bangalore on Monday, was buried at his native place, Dogganal in Chitradurga, with State honours on Tuesday. A large number of people gathered at Dogganal in the morning to pay tributes to the late economist. However, Minister Prakash Hukkeri who represented the Government, and D. Manjunath, Chitradurga district in-charge Minister, arrived at 4.30 p.m. when almost all the rites were coming to an end. Shyamanur Shivashankarappa, MLA, Davangere, Siddeshwar, MP, Davangere, B.C. Patil, MLA, Umapathy, MLA, and H. Anjaneya, MLA, were among those who were present. A minute's silence was observed as a mark of respect to the late economist.
