Core sector growth slides

NEW DELHI: Infrastructure growth slid to 5.7 per cent in August from 6.3 per cent in the same month in 2004, mainly due to sharp 16.1 per cent slump in crude oil production. Cumulative growth during April-August also declined to 5.1 per cent from 6.5 per cent in the same period in 2004-05.
