KADAPA: Data on pattadar passbooks in Kadapa district will be computerised by November 15, Collector, G. Asok Kumar, said on Tuesday. Addressing the District Consultative Committee meeting of bankers, he exhorted bankers to liberally disburse crop loans to farmers besides loans for farm mechanisation. Referring to farmers' complaints, he asked bankers to avoid delay in disbursement of banks loans. Crop loan disbursement by Andhra Bank and Canara Bank was poor, he said. Bankers would not be paid service charges for issuing no dues certificates in Government sponsored schemes, he asserted. He asked all Government departments to identify beneficiaries by October-end.
Action promised
When bankers raised apprehensions about bogus pattadar passbooks, the Collector said computerised data of all pattadar passbooks would be provided to them after November 15. Promising action against persons producing bogus pattadar passbooks, he recalled the suspension of a panchayat secretary in Vempalle mandal. Handloom products should be provided marketing through Rajiv Yuva Shakthi, Mr. Kumar advised. He sought cooperation of bankers and officials to retain the first position in disbursing RYS loans. When bankers lamented improper recovery of loans from weavers, the Assistant Director of Handlooms Ramachandraiah promised action if specific cases were referred to him.
Sugarcane ryots
The Collector asked bankers to help in documentation of RYS and PMRY loans to expedite their disbursement. Bankers should grant crop loans to sugarcane farmers, as the sugar factory at Chennur would become functional in a few months. He also called for loans for raising fodder, poultry and milch cattle. Horticultural acreage should be increased as the district was chosen under the National Horticulture Mission, he said. Officials should ground drip irrigation units sanctioned to 385 beneficiaries over a stretch of 700 hectares by October 31, the Collector said.
