Backward class groups meet Deve Gowda

Submit memorandum on reservation pattern

BANGALORE: Representatives of a number of backward classes who say they have been denied a fair share in the reservations for backward classes in employment and education called on the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda on Monday and sought his intervention for the introduction of specified reservation for each group.

The representatives of various communities, such as Savitha, Devanga, Ganiga, Tigala, Kumbara and Madivala, submitted a memorandum to Mr. Gowda.

Addressing a large gathering near his residence, Mr. Gowda said the Janata Dal (Secular) will hold a convention of the affected backward classes and come up with an action plan to fight for their rights.
