Afzal Hussain Awards presented

CHENNAI: The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India honoured students who had emerged toppers in the Higher Secondary and SSLC examinations with the Afzal Hussain awards of the year on Sunday.

Madras University Vice-Chancellor S P Thyagarajan felicitated the award-winning students, C Sujana, M Asha Benazir, S A Ayisha, S Abdul Wadhood, A Ramya, Md Riswan, B Fathima and A Ameen Yasir.

Haj Mohideen, SIO zonal president, said that several programmes, including scholarship drives, coaching classes and free book banks were offered for the welfare of students.
