Film association flays protest

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The Thennindhiya Nadigar Sangam (South India artistes association) has condemned members of Dalit Panthers of India and Pattali Makkal Katchi for their protest in front of their office.

In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, the association president Vijayakant and general secretary R.Sarath Kumar said both the political parties were not justified in leading the protest in front of their office over the remarks made by actress Kushboo in a Tamil magazine. "What the actor spoke was her personal view. The association does not influence members on what to speak," the statement said.

The association office-bearers also appealed to all actors to exercise restraint while giving interviews to the media.
