MANGALORE: Epitome-05, a two-day National Information Technology Fest by Master of Computer Applications (MCA) students of St. Aloysius College was inaugurated by K. Narendran, Vice-President, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Mangalore, here on Tuesday. Mr. Narendran said India is a growing economy and will be world's fourth largest economy by 2008. This will be possible because of the availability of trained human resource, he said. The country will emerge as a global hub of innovations. But for this, there was need for quality education and good work culture. He said it is imperative for all to be abreast of the changes. He advised students to make use of opportunities presented at such festivals to gain knowledge. Eugene Lobo, college principal, congratulated the students of MCA and Bioinformatics for putting up a grand show. Francis Serrao, Rector, St. Aloysian Institutions, in his welcome address, advised the students to be aware of true goals of education to be competent and conscientious with compassionate commitment. He said such events only help them sharpen their skills. Mr. Serrao inaugurated Infovision, the IT and Bioinformatics exhibition on the occasion. The exhibition will be on till Wednesday evening.
