Folk art festival

ANOTHER EVENT to watch out for is the folk art festival which got off to a start this week at the open air theatre behind Ravindra Kalakshetra.

It is a joint collaboration for the sake of art. The Kannada and Culture Department and the Indira Gandhi National Art Centre, South Zone, have joined hands to present a series of monthly programmes titled "Haadeere Ragagala, Thoogeere Deepagala," bringing the best of folk arts and dances and theatre performances from across the sub-regions of the State.

The Kannada and Culture Department is also keen on installing a statue of saint-poet Sarvajna in the city.
