Power shutdown

The following areas will not have power supply between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on October 1, owing to a shutdown for maintenance at the Periyanaickenpalayam sub-station:

P.N. Palayam, Naickenpalayam, Kovanur, Kavundampalayam, Jothipuram, Press Colony, Chinnamadampalayam, Veerapandy No.4, Malipalayam, Agragarasamakulam, Vellamadai, Kottaipalayam, Vayampalayam, Athipalayam, Keeranam, Idigarai, Sengalipalayam, N.S.N. Palayam, Poochiyur, Thoppampatti, Chinnathadagam, Pannimadai, Nanjundapuram, No.24 Veerapandi, Mangarai and Anaikatti.

SIEMA welcomes announcement for SSIs

The Southern India Engineering Manufacturers' Association has welcomed Centre's announcement enhancing the subsidy from 12 per cent to 15 per cent under the capital subsidy scheme for small-scale units. It also welcomed extension of the scheme till March 31, 2007.

New service counter at State Bank of Mysore

State Bank of Mysore has opened a new service counter called the Grahak Mitra at its main branch here. These counters will help customers with their basic queries and direct them to the respective desks according to their requirements. This is 50th Grahak Mitra counter of the bank.

Navarathri festival

Navarathri festival will be celebrated at Sri Kamatchi Amman Temple, R.S. Puram, from October 4 to October 12. Abishekam, homam and navavarna pujas will be conducted and Sri Sankara Trust will organise music programmes.
