Unidentified man found murdered in Kalyana Nagar

Police suspect victim could have been killed elsewhere

BANGALORE: An unidentified man was found murdered on a vacant plot in Banaswadi police station limits on Tuesday.

Police said the assailants had slashed the throat of the man aged around 25 and smashed his head with a boulder. Passers-by, who saw the body lying on the vacant site on 1st Cross, Kalyana Nagar, alerted the police.

The Banaswadi police, who have registered a case, suspect that the culprits would have murdered the man somewhere else and dumped his body in Kalyana Nagar.

Two drowned

Bodies of two young men, who are suspected to have drowned while immersing Ganesha idols on Sunday night, were found on Tuesday.

The police said Anand (25) of R.T. Nagar, who went to the Hebbal Lake to immerse a Ganesha idol on Sunday night, was reported missing since then. His body was found in the lake on Tuesday morning.

The identity of a man aged around 25, whose body was found in the Yediyur Lake in Jayanagar, is yet to be established, the police said.

The Jayanagar police have registered a case.

Mobile phone snatched

Two men, who came on a motorcycle, snatched a mobile phone from a private company employee in Tilaknagar police station limits on Monday night. The police said that around 9 p.m., the two snatched the mobile phone from Keshava, at 28th Cross, 4th T Block, Jayanagar, and was speaking on his phone. The Tilaknagar police have registered a case.

Woman robbed

Three men tied up an elderly woman at her house in Mahadevapura police station limits on Monday afternoon and robbed her of gold ornaments worth Rs. 70,000.

According to a complaint lodged by G.N. Bhaskar, a resident of Nababhaskar Meadows Layout, three men tied the hands and legs of his mother, Ravi Kumari, when she was sitting in front of her house.

They relieved Ravi Kumari of a gold chain and a pair of earrings and locked her in the bathroom.

The woman identified the three as Seenu, Narayanswamy and Ramesh, all labourers and residents of a shed in front of her house.

The Mahadevapura police have registered a case.

Fake passport

The Emigration officials at the Bangalore Airport on Monday night arrested a youth who was trying to fly to Dubai on a fake passport.

The name of the arrested has been given as Razack (25) of Kasaragod in Kerala.

The Airport police have registered a case.
