Brief session of State Assembly from today

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A brief session of the Assembly, which is likely to last for about ten days, will commence here on Wednesday. On the opening day, the House will adjourn after paying tributes to the slain Congress MLA C. Narsi Reddy and adopt a condolence motion. The Assembly will meet again on October 3 and take up the business finalised by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC).

Being held against the backdrop of the municipal election results announced on Monday, the short monsoon session is not going to be devoid of fireworks.

Charges of misuse of official machinery and use of money and muscle power in the civic elections, the Volkswagen scam, fever deaths in the Visakhapatnam agency area and the alleged tardiness in flood relief are high on the Opposition's agenda.

Congress MLAs and Ministers held a meeting on Tuesday to chalk out a counter strategy.
