KOCHI: Kothamangalam was the first municipality in the district where counting was completed. Though the authorities had announced that the results of Aluva would be out first, the results of Kothamangalam were out by 9 a.m.

DIC general secretary N.Venugopal was the first candidate to be declared elected from the Kochi Corporation.

When the postal ballots for district panchayat were counted, the LDF maintained a clear lead Two candidates of the DIC(K), Babu Paul from Pothanikode and Anil Kanjili at Kalady, were also leading.
