HYDERABAD: Nipuna Services Limited, Satyam group's business process outsourcing (BPO) arm and one of the leading BPO services providers, has become the first BPO services company to achieve level 4 certification of eSourcing Capability Model (eSCM) developed by the IT services qualification centre (ITsqc) of the Carnegie Mellon University.

eSCM is a quality model applicable to the entire BPO spectrum giving the clients a guide to evaluate, select and monitor service providers based on their level of certification and practice satisfaction profile.

Announcing this at a press conference here, Nipuna Chief Executive Officer, Venkatesh Roddam, said the company was looking towards positioning itself to tailor end-to-end solutions besides offering value additions and quality to its clients. With a present head count of about 1,600, which was likely to be increased to more than 2,000 by the end of the current fiscal, the company was expecting to achieve breakeven by the second quarter.

ITsqc Director, Jane Siegel, who also interacted through videoconference from Bangalore, said the centre was also developing a standard certification for clients covering nine different sectors for long-term sourcing relations. A draft model of the certification comprising components like value management would be ready by the year-end.

Satyam group Chairman, B. Ramalinga Raju, was present at the press conference.
